Misanthropic troubadour David E. Williams has released his first full-length album in eight years, and it is certainly worth the wait. Each piece, whether it includes his melancholy, husky vocals or not, is an audio "portrait" of some dark aspect of the human condition, and Williams varies his musical style to best capture the intended emotions of each. Some have a classical sound. Others have a more gloomy, almost "goth" caste. A few are in a more lush, orchestral style. All are sophisticated and deeply expressive.
